Basic Grey Card of the Month Program 2013

I have really loved the Page of the Month and the Kit of the Month Programs that Basic Grey has.  This year I am looking at possibly stocking the Card of the Month.  I will need at least 8 people committed to the program for me to participate this year.  The monthly price will be $16.00 per kit and they will be mailed 2 months at a time for a total of $32.00 plus a flat $5.00 shipping fee.  This is just a little over $2.00 per card plus extra goodies to make additional cards or projects!!!   You will not have to pre-pay for the year, I will notify you when I receive the shipment and send you an invoice.  Once payment has been received I will ship the order out.

If this is something that you may be interested in or you have any questions please message me below or you can email me at info@southlakescrapbooking.com. Once I have 8 participants I will let you know when we should be receiving the first shipment.

Christmas Ornament

I had the task of decorating our department at work.  It was a "Paper Christmas"!  Here is a quick look at one of the ornaments I made for the Christmas Tree.  They are really easy and quick to make.  I made a variety of sizes but what is the same for all of them is to use 2 sided paper cut into 1/2 inch strips, poke a hole on both ends and alternate patterns when placing them on the pin.  Add some beads to the bottom and some ribbon on the top and you have a beautiful Christmas Ornament!

Spellbinders Shaped Card

Have you noticed, I am finally able to post some of my cards that I have made this season... :)  Today's card is a very simple card to make but looks very elegant!  I cut the base of the card using the largest die in the Decorative Labels Eight Set.  Using the 2nd to the smallest die for the sentiment I shaded the inside and embossed "Noel" in silver.  I added 3 small pearls at the bottom of the tag and was done!

Masking Christmas Card

I have seen so many beautiful cards using the Stampin Up Lovely as a Tree stamp set...  I used the masking technique for the ground and moon.  I stamped the trees in black ink and then stamped over it again with Ranger Emboss It, then sprinkled Sticky Embossing Powder over the image.  Using the Ranger Heat it heat gun I melted the powder to get it ready for the Stickles Dry Fine Glitter in Star Dust.  Heat the glitter so that it is set into the sticky powder and then you will not need to worry about glitter coming off of the card.  After the card has cooled I will take a lint brush and remove all of the excess glitter.  What you have left is a beautiful card!!!  I had a hard time trying to get the lighting right to capture the glitter and the pictures came out a little fuzzy. The pictures do not do justice...

Thank You Card and Box

My brother was in the hospital for 2 months and had asked me to make him some Thank You Cards.  I just love the triple layer technique.  I had a hard time trying to make them not too feminine.  I had also just seen a YouTube for a gift box so I decided to try it out (I will try to locate the link and update this post).

Simple Christmas Card

It is hard to see all the shimmer on this card but believe me it is there!!!  I embossed the background and used an ink blender to highlight the raised areas.  I then coated the entire piece with platinum shimmer paint from Stampin Up.  I then used the Decorative Labels Eight die to cut out the center piece and blended the edges while it was in the die.  I stamped an image from Stampin Up, Merry & Type in Early Espresso. Then using the Stamp a ma jig I stamped over the image again with Versa Mark and used Sticky Embossing Powder.  After I heat set the sticky powder I sprinkled Star Dust Glitter on top to heat set it once again.  I used Cherry Cobbler Ribbon as a beautiful accent color!

Christmas Wreath

Here is a Christmas Wreath made using the same technique as I used on the topiary tree.  This is such a quick and easy project and does not use that much paper.  I used Basic Grey and Bazzill and pinned the paper to a foam circle.

Christmas Topiary

I saw this Fall Topiary on YouTube by http://www.shellybailey.blogspot.com/ and thought it would be the cutest Christmas decoration.  I am in charge of decorating our department at work this year and have 2 of these completed.  I started thinking this would also be a great gift for the neighbors.  It is a little time consuming cutting all the paper but really easy to do while watching tv or get the kids involved and make it a family project.

For this topiary I used Basic Grey Nordic Holiday paper and Bazzill paper for fill in.  Cut the strips into 6 x 1/2 strips and curl the paper into circles with a bone folder, similar to curling ribbon.  Take a small pin to secure the two edges into a circle and insert into foam ball.  I was able to locate these foam topiaries at Hobby Lobby.

I added some Christmas picks to decorate the bottom and this is what I came up with!!  I am not sure what base I like better...

Starting today we have Free Shipping on all U.S. orders over $50.00.  Make sure you have all of your supplies for your Christmas Cards and decorations!!!

Basic Grey Aspen Frost

Well I told you I was busy this weekend playing in my office :)  Here are some cards I made using the new Basic Grey Aspen Frost 6x6 pad.  I used Distress Ink around the edges and used the same Spellbinders Die as on yesterday's card, Labels Twenty-Five.  The stamp set is from Stampin Up and I used some black ribbon to tie around the cards.  I forgot to add the stickles to the leaves so I added some sparkle after I took the pictures!

Watercolor Christmas Card

I made the background for this card last year, but was not sure how I wanted to use it.  I saw them sitting on my desk this weekend and I am pretty happy how the completed cards turned out.  It is hard to tell in the pictures but I used watercolor paper and embossed it with an Embossing Folder.  Then I used Distress Ink to color the paper.  Once I had the color like I wanted it I used Perfect Pearls Mist to saturate the paper.  Once it dries it has a beautiful shine to it and the variation of color is gorgeous!  I used the Spellbinders Labels Twenty Five and stamped a sentiment from Stampin Up, Christmas Lodge and I added some Stickles to the leaves.  For a finishing touch I added some black ribbon and tied a bow!

Quick and Easy Stampin Up Card

Here is a quick Christmas card I made using mainly Stampin Up products.  I do have to say the Stampin Up Whisper White paper is the best paper for stamping on!!!

Spellbinders Christmas Card

I finally had a chance to play with the new Spellbinders products that came out!! I used the
M-Bossabilities Folders - Winter Wonders for the background on white paper.  These embossing folders give you so much detail!  I then inked the paper with Festive Berries Distress Ink from the Winter Distress Ink Set 2011.  I cut 2 sizes of the Decorative Labels One and inked the white label with the Festive Berries Distress Ink.  The stamp is from the JustRite stamp set Christmas Miracle Ornaments - Cling
